Our Custom Home History

Custom homes in Lancaster County, PA

For 65 years, we’ve been designing and building new custom homes in Lancaster County.

Norman L. Graham and his wife, Jean, started the business in 1951, a time when identical homes were going up as fast as builders could assemble them. Back then, the Levittown model of mass production defined American homebuilding, but Norman and Jean had a better idea. They chose to serve individuals and families who wanted homes built to their specifications and crafted with the best possible materials and workmanship.

Norman and Jean knew that their concept of serving as a custom home builder would appeal to only a small number of buyers, and because of that, they knew that they had to act with complete integrity and deliver outstanding personal service.

That formula has proven to be successful, and the company is now in the third generation of the Graham family. Norman and Jean’s son, Gerald, joined the firm in 1991. Gerald’s wife, Linda, now runs the office, and their son, Matthew, works as an estimator and project manager for the company.

The quality of service and workmanship at Norman Graham Builders has remained as high as it’s always been. That’s a combination that guarantees all of our clients a pleasant building experience that will result in exactly the home that they envision.
